ESTHER CARE (Health Center Level).   Parents usually cannot pay the $1.5 for their children to be seen by a health provider when they are sick.  ESTHER CARE covers the consultation fee and helps them to gain access to malaria tests and treatment.  Over 80% of the children test positive for Malaria and are treated for the disease.

ESTHER CARE (Hospital Level).  When prevention and early care fail in Sankuru children often present on deaths door at the referall hospitals.  It cost around $50 per child for life saving medical care.  Dr. Law is working the pediatric services throughout the Sankuru to improve care.  These hospitals are rudimentary as they lack electricity and running water and other basic amenenities.
